PROJECTB10

For the 10th anniversary of the opening of the gallery, ProjectB is pleased to present a group show with current works by 12 representative artists of our history.

IVAN DE MENIS

AWARE, Interview by Ilaria Bochicchio

For this occasion, the gallery presents the first solo show in Milan by the Italian artist Ivan De Menis. “Compressioni” (Compressions) is the title of an exhibition featuring 16 works of different sizes. For us, at Aware, a preview of the interview with the artist.

TINDAR

Intervista

Carlotta Loverini Botta intervista il giovane artista italiano Tindar sul suo lavoro e sulla sua nuova serie The Trace Project, che verrà presentata al Premio Cairo dal 10 al 13 novembre a Palazzo Reale a Milano.

TOM ANHOLT

Conversation between artist, gallerist and curator

Ancient Games, the ancient game of “doing painting”: twelve oils on view in Milan, at the gallery ProjectB, narrate how to pour a story into a gesture, the personality of the artist, the freedom of imagination of those who enjoy and observe that gesture.

Two hands appear against the backdrop of a green forest; paint and brushstrokes depict the instant between sleep and waking, while profiles of familiar figures move on a distant horizon, the place where the kingdom of Tom Anholt is born.

ANNIE MORRIS

INTERVIEW ON ASCENSION

Annie Morris piles up signs in a sort of automatic writing, until the work becomes abstract and keeps the color alive in its rawest form, packing the pigment from which “Stacks of Joy” emerge (literally metaphors of pure joy): sculptures shaped with plaster and sand, densely colored, or cast in bronze. A banquet for the eyes, on view at ProjectB gallery in Milan, for the first solo show by the English artist in Italy.

TINDAR

SHOW AND TRACES

In April ProjectB will present the first solo show by the young Italian artist Tindar.

The “Radici” (Roots) start with the artist’s reflections on culture, our identity as living beings, as humans, as westerners. To aptly express this concept, Tindar uses tree roots as a symbol, drawing them on the pages of historic texts that form the basis of our civilization, like religious scriptures or the Divine Comedy.
The relationship between nature and truth is equally important for this series of works. “Concrete, silent and powerful substance: this is the teaching nature grants me and before which I bow my head.”
