“My art is connected to time. “Tessere”, “Rette”, “Tondi” and “Compressioni” are steps towards the completion of my personal alphabet.”
Ivan de Menis

These works come to life thanks to the gradual applications of tone-on-tone colours and to the overlapping of glazing that recall Veneto tonalism, thus becoming a symbol for the artist’s strong bond with his origins.

"The Unnatural Portrait friezes the flow. Making explicit the dynamic flux that is the true nature of being humanKeith Tyson

Hugo Wilson is exploring and attempting to understand the structures—biological, cultural, historical and philosophical that underlay human life. And from that position, to address the ways in which culture takes the raw stuff of existence and uses it to generate meaning." Ben Tufnell

"The relationship between the illusionism in representational painting and the materiality of paint is explored through tromp l’oeil wallpapers, paintings within paintings, and ‘real’ environments. These disintegrate into abstraction at certain points; dripping paint or dissolving brushstrokes reminding the viewer that the space created in the paintings is a fictional one."
